The PSL Awards held at the Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City last night brought the curtains down on the 2011/2012 PSL season which had many ups and downs for all 16 PSL teams that partook in the competition. takes a look back (in numbers) at what has been for the Mighty Buccaneers this past season :

0 – the number of league matches lost at Orlando Stadium this season. The Mighty Buccaneers finished the 2011/12 season with the best home record having collected an impressive 37 points out of 45, winning 11 matches in the process.

1 - number of Telkom Knockout titles Pirates has collected in the history of the competition. The class of 2011/12 season made history when they became the first Pirates side to lift the South African version of the League cup when they defeated BIDVest Wits 3-1 in the final. Previously, the Buccaneers had lost in the final of this competition on six occasions.

3 - the number of trophies collected this season for the second consecutive years.

7 - the highest scoring match was recorded in the 4-3 win over Platinum Stars was played at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on the 22nd February.

11 - longest undefeated run in the league. Five short of the stretch recorded last season and six short of the all-time Pirates record of 17 matches undefeated.

13 - the highest number of goals scored by an individual. Striker Benni McCarthy netted 10 PSL and 3 Cup goals this season.

40 - the number of official matches played by Pirates this season (excluding the two played in the CAF Champions League).

720 - total number of goals scored since the inception of the league in 1996. The record for the most goals is still held by Mamelodi Sundowns.

3420 - total number of minutes played by defender Siyabonga Sangweni this season.

35 000 - the highest attendance recorded at Orlando Stadium this season was the last home match of the season against Bloemfontein Celtic. Pirates went on to win the match 2-1.

92 000 - the highest attendance recorded this season, in the match between Orlando Pirates and rivals Kaizer Chiefs which was played at the FNB Stadium.

22 250 000 - the total amount of money collected by Pirates in winnings this season: League (R10 000 000), MTN 8 (R8 000 000) and Telkom Knockout Cup (R4 250 000).
